What is Sangha?
Sangha is one of the Three Jewels of Buddhism, representing the community of Buddhist practitioners who support each other on the path to enlightenment. In Tibetan Buddhism, Sangha encompasses both the monastic community and lay practitioners who gather to study, practice, and embody the Buddha's teachings together. The word "Sangha" comes from Sanskrit, meaning "assembly" or "community," and serves as the third refuge alongside Buddha and Dharma. At its essence, Sangha provides the supportive spiritual friendship necessary for authentic transformation and awakening.
